Gadgetren – Through the ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 and ROG Strix SCAR 15/17, ASUS has announced a new lineup into the ROG gaming laptop line that uses the 10th generation Intel Core H-series processor.
This processor is the latest generation from Intel and the attached H-series label signifies that it is designed for high-performance devices such as laptops that are specifically present for gaming and creator content.
ASUS said that the processor, which has another name, Comet Lake, is still built from the same architecture as the previous generation, but has been optimized. However, the 10th generation Intel Core H-series processor has a clock speed advantage that is faster than the previous generation.
“This processor comes with a clock speed of up to 5.3 GHz in Thermal Velocity Boost mode, precisely on the Intel Core i9-10980HK which is the highest series in the ranks of the 10th generation Intel Core H-series processors,” wrote ASUS.
Thermal Velocity Boost itself is a new feature that allows some 10th generation Intel Core H-series processors to run faster than the Turbo Boost mode available in the previous generation processors.
This processor also supports faster RAM up to 2999MHz (dual-channel) with capacities up to 128GB. Unlike the previous generation, the 10th generation of Intel processors this time can support two Thunderbolt 3 controllers and WiFi 6 (802.11ax) which is faster.
The 10th generation Intel Core H-series adopted by the latest ROG laptops consists of four series, namely Core i7-10750H and Core i7-10850H which uses 6 core 12 thread configurations, as well as the two highest processor series Core i7-10875H and i9-10980HK comes with 8 cores and 16 thread configurations.
Increasing the number of cores and threads in all processor lines shows that this processor is also designed for content creators whose most supporting applications require a large number of cores and threads to run more smoothly.
The ASUS team itself has independently tested the performance comparison between the 10th generation Intel Core H-series processors and previous generations.
From the results of these tests, it can be seen that the Intel Core H-series 10th generation as a whole has better performance than its predecessor with an average increase in performance of up to 28%.
One interesting thing from the test results shows that the Intel Core i7-10875H has a higher score than the Intel Core i9-9880H on all test lines.
