Vivo V19 Review: New Design, Detailed Camera Results and Speeding Performance – Vivo V19 was officially present in Indonesia a few weeks ago. Comes with a 6.44-inch Super AMOLED screen with a punch-hole camera which is also equipped with a 32MP Super Night Selfie Camera and 48MP AI Quad Camera, with 8GB of RAM + 128GB or 256GB ROM memory and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 AIE.

New Ultra O Screen Design with the Smallest Camera Holes

Vivo v19 has a very beautiful design, especially for the Crystal White colors that we have for this review. Vivo V19 has a super thin bezel on the top and side of the screen. Vivo has chosen the Ultra O Screen design for this smartphone with a 6.44-inch FHD + Super AMOLED Screen with a 20: 9 aspect ratio.

On the Vivo phone's screen there is also a camera hole or Punch Hole which is positioned in the upper right corner and is claimed to be the smallest camera hole currently measuring 2.98mm, which holds a 32MP camera with superior Super Night Selfie features. The screen on the Vivo V19 also has a Screen Touch ID fingerprint scanner.

The dimensions of this smartphone are not too big with a weight that is not too heavy, only 176 grams. In fact, this latest Vivo phone carries a capacity of 4500mAh battery. Vivo also offers a USB type-C port flanked by speakers, a 3.5 mm Audio Jack and a microphone. Not enough, the V19 is equipped with a secondary microphone at the top that allows us to produce better sound recordings when taking video.

Turning to the back, 4 cameras carried by this cellphone are placed in a rectangular module. Make it look unique and different from most other smartphones. However, the camera module is a bit protruding and causes the device to be shaky and unbalanced when placed on a flat surface. Although it is rather prominent, the camera lens is protected with a metal frame so it won't be easily scratched and can be tricked using a soft case.

On the back panel of this phone it is very easy to leave fingerprints and stains. Fortunately, color variants Crystal White can disguise fingerprints and blemishes very well. In the sales package, Vivo also includes a transparent casing that we can use to protect the unit from being easily scratched when dropped or bumped. Besides soft case, we will also find a pair in ear headphones beside the 18W type charger fast charging in the purchase box.

A Camera With Detailed Photographs in Various Light Conditions

The main camera of this smartphone uses a sensor of 48MP accompanied by an 8MP camera to take a broader perspective (wide angle), as well as two 2MP sized cameras, each tasked to take macro photos and functions depth sensor (to produce photos with bokeh backgrounds).

The V19 camera is equipped with Pro Mode which allows us to take full control and make adjustments manually. In addition to Pro Mode, Night Mode is also available which in our opinion is very good, because it can reduce noise significantly when used to take photos in places with low light.

Besides that, the Vivo V19 camera has also been equipped with HDR technology, Frame Merging, feature Super Night Selfie, and a special algorithm that can maximize shots to be able to produce more perfect photos. By default, the main camera with a 48MP sensor will work in 12MP mode and can be used to record videos with a maximum resolution of 4K or photos up to 1080p.

We tried several times to take photos using this Vivo V19, and in our opinion this smartphone's camera is quite good because it can lock focus very quickly. Besides that, the camera can also produce a pretty good blur background when used in Bokeh Mode.

The selfie camera on the front also gives very good results and feels very satisfying when used to take photos day and night. Not only the rear camera, this smartphone selfie camera is also equipped with Night Mode which allows us to take brighter and detailed photos at night.

Reliable Performance Even with Snapdragon 675 AIE

Vivo V19 has been equipped with Snapdragon 675 AIE processor, which is able to provide a smooth Android smartphone experience without lag. We can also do multitasking easily in several applications thanks to the 8GB RAM that is equipped on this phone. The fingerprint scanner that is placed inside the screen also offers satisfactory performance and is quite fast. In addition to the fingerprint scanner, there is also a face recognition that can be used to unlock.

We run a series of tests using the Benchmark application to get data on how well the performance of this Vivo V19.

  • AnTuTu Benchmark – 238,741
  • PCMark – 7,163 (Work 2.0)
  • Geekbench 5 – 511 (Single-core), 1,675 (Multi-core)

When used to play PUBG Mobile games, Call of Duty Mobile to Asphalt 9 at the highest settings, this smartphone can run games without problems. In testing, after being used to play games for approximately 20 minutes, this device feels rather warm even though it is used in an air-conditioned room. However, we still consider it reasonable, so it is not a problem for us.

The 4500mAh battery embedded in the V19 can last up to one and a half days with standard use. When tested by running HD video, the battery can last up to 16 hours 44 minutes. Charging the battery is quite fast. From the position of 0% – 70% only takes approximately 1 hour. Meanwhile, to fully charge, it takes about one and a half hours.

Funtouch OS 10 is more minimalist

The software embedded in V19 is Funtouch 10.0 based on Android 10. User interface offered through Funtouch 10.0 has a very minimalist concept, so it is very pleasing to the eyes and easy to use because all icons are placed on the screen without using app drawer as with most other cellphones.

And on Funtouch 10.0, the notification bar and quick toggle are now at the bottom which can be raised by rubbing the screen from the bottom up, which at first feels a bit troublesome because in general Android smartphones put it at the top, but in our opinion it is a differentiator for Funtouch OS compared to other Android smartphone UIs.

Advantages of Vivo V19:

  • The camera results are very detailed in various light conditions
  • Fast performance for multitasking or game activities
  • Super AMOLED screen produces sharp images
  • Funtouch OS 10's design is more minimalist

Lack of Vivo V19:

  • Lots of annoying notifications
  • Too much bloatware

Vivo V19 overall, this smartphone is worth Rp 4.2 million (for the lowest variant), and Rp 4.9 million for the 256GB variant. With a camera that can produce images that are quite detailed in our opinion, even with minimal light conditions.

Then even though it is only equipped with a Snapdragon 675 AIE chipset, the resulting performance is still outstanding, the Ultra O Screen design with the smallest selfie camera hole claimed at the moment, as well as good battery life with support 18W fast battery charging.
